Global Border Studies (GBS) offers the interdisciplinary courses with global perspectives from history, international relations, cultural studies, ecological studies, and border studies. Students from all over the world are invited to study the Global Border Studies (GBS). Students admitted to the major complete a Master of International Studies degree. Border Studies is a growing research field and has experienced a noticeable development boost. GBS addresses the historical, political, cultural, and environmental issues of borderlands in Northeast Asia and beyond, combining rigorous academic study, practical on-site learning, travel seminars. The GBS Program facilitates the examination of issues related to migration, human rights, globalization, ecosystems, and environment in borderlands. Scholars, NGOs, state and non-state actors, migrants and activists from Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Holland, and Norway contribute to the learning process. This two-year joint international study challenges students to be more thoughtful and intentional about their participation in promoting reconciliation and coexistence in borderlands.

全球边界研究(GBS，Global Border Studies） 以对边境的理解和实践为基础目标是培养出大批研究边境政策和边境合作的专家。本课程提供有关边境的历史、文化、边境、国际关系和生态等多种学科内容。 本专业学生在进行学术研究的同时，通过现场实地考察，研究边境地带的迁移、人权、生态和环境问题。韩国、日本、新西兰、德国、荷兰、挪威的研究者以及NGO和国际机构等专家将参加教育课程。全球边境研究专业计划，今后将通过构筑边境研究与合作的管理体系，致力于引导为和解与共存的国境政策与加强合作作出努力的人才进军国际社会。

글로벌국경연구전공 (GBS, Global Border Studies)은 국경에 대한 이해와 실천을 바탕으로 국경정책과 국경협력을 위한 전문가 양성을 목표로 한다. 본 과정은 국경에 관한 역사, 문화, 국경, 국제관계와 생태 등 다양한 학제간 커리큘럼을 제공한다. 전공학생들은 학술연구와 함께 보더 투어리즘 등 현장답사를 통해 국경지대의 이주와 인권, 생태와 환경 문제에 접근한다. 한국, 일본, 뉴질랜드, 독일, 네덜란드, 노르웨이의 연구자는 물론 NGO와 국제기구 등의 전문가들이 교육과정에 참여한다. 글로벌국경연구전공은 앞으로 국경연구와 협력을 위한 거버넌스 구축을 통해 화해와 공존을 위한 국경정책과 협력을 선도할 인재들의 국제사회 진출에 힘쓸 예정이다.
