GSIS Holds End-of-Semester Gathering for the 2025 Fall Semester

국제대학원, 2025학년도 2학기 종강총회 개최

 The Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) held its End-of-Semester Gathering for the 2025 Fall Semester on Friday, December 13, at 4:00 p.m., marking the conclusion of the second semester of the academic year. The event was organized by the GSIS Student Council (G.P.S.) and was designed to reflect on the semester’s activities while fostering communication and bonding between students. Approximately 50 participants, including students and faculty members, attended the gathering.

 국제대학원은 지난 13일 오후 4시 2025학년도 2학기를 마무리하며 종강총회를 개최했다. 이번 행사는 국제대학원 원우회(G.P.S) 주관으로 진행되었으며, 한 학기 동안의 활동을 공유하고 원우 간 소통과 화합을 도모하는 자리로 마련되었다. 이번 행사에는 원우와 교수진을 포함해 약 50명이 참석했다.

 Prior to the official program, a variety of pre-event activities such as a lucky draw, an SNS participation event, and a story-sharing activity were held. These programs created a lively and welcoming atmosphere even before the event officially began.

 본 행사에 앞서 뽑기 이벤트, SNS 인증, 사연 작성 등 다양한 식전 프로그램이 운영되며 행사 시작 전부터 현장의 분위기를 한층 밝게 만들었다.

 The gathering opened with welcoming remarks by Dean Sun-Ae Jeon, who delivered warm words of encouragement to the students and praised their dedication and hard work throughout the semester. Following this, the Student Council introduced its major initiatives from the second semester and reviewed various support programs implemented for students. These included a joint purchase of interpreting notebooks, snack support during midterm and final exam periods, and assistance for a international conference as well as entrance and graduation exams. These practical initiatives resonated strongly with attendees.

 행사는 전선애 원장님의 인사말로 시작됐다. 원장님은 한 학기 동안 학업과 각자의 자리에서 최선을 다해온 원우들에게 따뜻한 격려의 메시지를 전했다. 이어 원우회는 2학기 동안 진행한 주요 활동을 소개하며 학기 중 원우들을 위해 기획·운영한 다양한 지원 프로그램을 돌아보는 시간을 가졌다. 통역노트 공동구매, 중간·기말고사 기간 간식 지원, 국제학술대회 및 입학·졸업시험 지원 등 실질적인 활동들이 공유되며 참석자들의 공감을 얻었다.

 A Q&A session with faculty members followed. Professors Sae-Bom Jung and Sang-Hyuk Lim of the Korean–English department joined the session, offering thoughtful answers to questions related to academic life, career paths, and professional practice in translation and interpreting, along with sincere words of encouragement.

 이후에는 교수진과 함께하는 질의응답 시간이 마련됐다. 특히 이번 종강총회에는 전문통번역학과 한·영 전공 정새봄 교수와 임상혁 교수가 참여해, 학업과 진로, 통번역 실무 전반에 대한 질문에 답하며 현실적인 조언과 진심 어린 응원을 전했다.

 Midway through the event, a story-sharing session featured personal messages from students reflecting on the semester. Stories filled with concerns, gratitude, and moments of laughter were shared. The atmosphere grew increasingly warm and engaging, leading into a prize draw that energized the room with enthusiastic participation adding to the festive spirit of the event.

 행사 중반에는 원우들의 사연을 소개하는 시간이 이어졌다. 한 학기 동안의 고민과 감사, 웃음이 담긴 사연들이 공유되며 현장은 자연스럽게 따뜻한 분위기로 물들었다. 이어진 경품 추첨 시간에는 다채로운 경품과 함께 뜨거운 호응이 이어지며, 행사에 즐거운 활기를 더했다.

 After the official program wrapped up, part two, where everyone went out for dinner, provided an opportunity for students to continue talking in a more informal setting. Participants shared conversations they had not had time to enjoy during the busy semester, encouraged one another, and looked ahead to the next term.

 1부 공식 일정 이후에는 2부 식사 자리가 마련되어, 원우들이 보다 편안한 분위기 속에서 교류를 이어갔다. 학기 중 바쁜 일정 속에서 미처 나누지 못했던 이야기를 나누며 서로를 격려하고, 다음 학기를 기약하는 의미 있는 시간이 됐다.

 The End-of-Semester Gathering was a fantastic chance for GSIS students to reflect on the semester, strengthen their sense of community, and bring the Fall 2025 semester to an upbeat and forward-looking close.

 이번 종강총회는 한 학기를 함께 완주한 국제대학원 원우들이 서로를 돌아보고 연결되는 자리로, 다음 학기를 준비하는 뜻깊은 마무리의 장이 되었다.
